About This Role:

Favor TechConsulting, LLC (FTC)a wholly owned subsidiary of Tria Federal (Tria) is seeking an energetic, communicative, intelligent, and motivated Technical Lead. The Technical Lead will manage, guide, and mentor multiple development teams. In addition, they will bring technical expertise on our platform, currently consisting of Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Linux and MS SQL Server hosted at AWS GovCloud. They will set the overall technical direction for the project, ensure we meet customer needs, priorities, and standards. They must scope and define the overall technical needs in program roadmaps, releases, and sprints. The role also involves leading technical operations for the project. This is a customer facing role and superior communication and collaboration skills are essential. Ideally, the candidate will have a knowledge of VA and Community Care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide people leadership software developers, DBAs and DevOps engineers organized in multiple teams with a varying skill sets and experience levels
  • Provide technical guidance for our platform inclusive of:
    • Planning and implementing future versions, for example future versions of SQL Server, adopting new AWS services etc.
    • Leading and assisting fellow team members with operations, troubleshooting, system recovery, and system configuration
    • Maintain standards for code quality and change control using Github
    • Supervise operations and develop capabilities for the CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins and AWS services
    • System architecture and capacity planning, performance monitoring and system operations using Linux and Windows servers in AWS EC2 and Docker containers in AWS ECS/Fargate
  • Provide subject matter expertise on all infrastructure, middleware and development frameworks used by on the project
  • Assist the team in prioritizing work and with defining and sequencing tasks
  • Utilize subject matter expertise to participate in growth activities
  • Support the client, partner systems and project leadership with technical advice and analysis

The "Need-to-Have" Skills & Qualifications:

  • Working in an agile environment, particularly Scrum or SAFE
  • Management and mentoring of software developers and system engineers
  • Planning and delegating tasks and scaling to support multiple teams at the same time
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented concepts, principals, and patterns
  • Java, JavaScript and SQL development, especially MS SQL and large data sets
  • Systems Engineering/DevSecOps using AWS cloud infrastructure and services
  • Java application servers, primarily Tomcat
  • Web-service development using Spring Boot
  • Securing web applications and service using OAuth2
  • Code repository and build tools such as git, Gradle, Jenkins
  • Management tools, especially JIRA
