The Avadian Launch Program (Branch Leadership Development Program) provides on-the-job experience and training for individuals who aspire to begin a career in Avadian's branches. The Program offers participants a systematic approach to professional growth and self-improvement. It is designed to increase participant's job competency and to support career planning.


The program prepares participants for a future career at Avadian Credit Union through training classes, hands on branch training, meetings with departmental managers, as well as leadership classes to assist in preparing program participants for a future career in branch leadership within the financial industry. Participants interact with and learn from current Avadian employees gaining broad exposure to the many functions of the organization. Through this program, participants can build a broad knowledge base and benefit from relationships that contribute to career growth.


Characteristics of a Potential ALP Recruit

  • Action-oriented: Must show ability to get things done.
  • Visionary: Must have the ability to envision where the organization should be headed and understand how it might get there.
  • Intuitive: Must be able to think on their feet, make quick judgments, and bring a constructive view of the future.
  • Self-confident: Must have a "healthy ego", that demonstrates strong leadership, ambition, and acceptance of change.
  • Capable of Managing Change: Must be able to quickly adapt to change.
  • Technically Competent: Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment: Committed to learning about various positions at the credit union.
  • Other Observations: These individuals must be sensitive to others, versatile, exceptionally capable of dealing with people, and energetic.


Requirements of an ALP Recruit

  • Must not be a current employee of Avadian.
  • Must have a High School Diploma.
  • Must have at least one year of experience working in customer service, retail sales, or the financial industry.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to motivate others.
  • Must have the ability to travel to branches within the Birmingham area.


Itinerary / Formal Training: The Avadian Launch Program includes formal training classes, self-paced online courses, and on-the-job application of the skills/experience learned during training. The itinerary itself and the timeline may change at the discretion of the Human Resources Department.



Program Completion and Post-Program Expectations

Completion of the Avadian Launch Program will be between 12 and 18 months. Continued employment after the Program is over is not guaranteed. Once the Program is over, Avadian will review the participant's rate of development and performance throughout the Program. In the event of continued employment, the participant could be transferred to another position or promoted to a role within a leadership capacity to utilize the experience and knowledge gained during the Program.

  • Must have at least one year of experience working in customer service, retail sales, or the financial industry.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to motivate others.
  • Must have the ability to travel to branches within the Birmingham area.
