The Recycling Laborer sorts through collected trash and debris for recyclable materials and separates items into established categories such as aluminum, ferrous metals, glass, high-grade white paper, and corrugated paper. This worker discards contaminants and other items that cannot be recycled (WDR Summary 99710).

  • Emptying recycles containers into portable collection bins.
  • Transporting recyclables to the disposal area.
  • Sorting materials by type as required.
  • Compacting and binding cardboard.
  • Delivering gaylords for customers to fill with recycle material and retrieving the same when completed.
  • Pick up cardboard and other recycled materials randomly placed in hallways or as requested by the customer.
  • Printer /toner cartridges are to be picked up and properly sealed and stored by the mailroom by the loading dock.
  • Cleaning recycles bins, surrounding areas, and assigned workspace as required.
  • Responsible for working with a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake Policy.
  • Follows safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
  • Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.
