The Server engages customers and creates a positive experience for guests. Maintaining a friendly attitude, Servers attend all their customers in an efficient and prompt manner. Servers prepare and serve food and beverages. Also assist with the maintenance of the cafe and pantry area and equipment.

Requirements

Essential Functions

  • Adhere to SOPs and other work procedures as required to assure guest satisfaction and consistency to our customers
  • Greet each Guest within two minutes with water, Take and deliver beverage orders, Take and deliver food orders
  • Presents menu, answers questions, and suggests food and beverage items.
  • Input orders into POS system and ensure transmission of food orders is verified.
  • Legibly document orders when the POS system is down.
  • Heat food in equipment as per the recipe
  • Make coffee and espresso beverages using specified equipment
  • Retrieve all alcoholic beverage items from Gear & Beer bar and serve them to guests.
  • Monitors tables ensuring all guests are served as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and tables
  • Check for Guest satisfaction
  • Computes bills and accepts payment; tracks sales receipts.
  • Process payment promptly and correctly
  • Adhere to payment, cash handling, and credit card policies/procedures.
  • Ensures tips are reported properly for tax processing.
  • Extend appreciation for guests' patronage and invite them to return.
  • Maintain general restaurant cleanliness
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.

  • Immediately report all injuries to the supervisor or manager on duty and to the security manager on duty
  • Other duties include, but are not limited to
    • Represents the Field Station brand with all partnerships and local vendors

Competencies
  1. A passion for hospitality and the great outdoors.
  2. Strong relationship and negotiation skills.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Able to work independently and follow projects through to completion.
  5. Working knowledge of Cloud-Based Applications; knowledge of Google Suite products preferred.
  6. Thoroughness and attention to detail.
  7. Must be a MacGyver, able to find creative solutions when issues arise, with limited resources.
Required Education and Experience
  1. Required: Two years experience as a server or bartender.
  2. Required: Ability to accurately compute and manipulate mathematical calculations.
  3. Required: Food handler certification completion.
  4. Strongly preferred: Knowledge of wines, beers and spirits
  5. Strongly preferred: Knowledge of POS systems
  6. Strongly preferred: Alcohol awareness certification (TIPS Training)
  7. Must have the legal ability to serve alcoholic beverages due to supportive supervisory responsibilities..
  8. High school diploma or GED certificate.
