Position Purpose:

This is an entry level clinical position working in the addiction field.  Directly supervise behavioral health clients. Provide continuity of program services in an ethical, legal, and moral manner within a safe and therapeutic environment, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED and one year of behavior health treatment experience
  • Minimum CNA, CMA or EMT certification or greater
  • CPR/BLS and First Aid training complete within three months
  • Skilled in behavioral management techniques
  • Valid driver's license

Essential Responsibilities:  

    1. Work hours prescribed by the supervisor and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned. Overtime may be required.
    2. Work as a member of the Health Center milieu treatment team.
    3. Supervise and manage the behavior of the clients and provide appropriate behavioral interventions to maintain a therapeutic milieu.
    4. Facilitate therapy and psychoeducation group sessions.
    5. Coordinate, supervise and implement client activities.
    6. Directly observe clients every 15 minutes or shorter intervals if directed.
    7. Transport clients as required.
    8. Perform cleaning/housekeeping/laundry tasks as assigned.
    9. Oversee and maintain the neatness/cleanliness of the unit and the proper use of the equipment and supplies and to inform the proper person when supplies or repairs are indicated.
    10. Assist with client admissions.
    11. Completely and accurately enter all required client information into the computerized entry system at the time of client admission; have nurse on duty review forms for accuracy; print forms to be put in the client chart
    12. Assist with verification of admissions medications at admission with client’s physician or pharmacy.
    13. Assist with collecting client health history and report to nurse.
    14. Assist in client orientation to the unit.
    15. Perform cursory body checks for contraband.
    16. Assist with the medical care of clients
    17. Assist with vital signs assessments and communication of health information to nurses.
    18. Assist with withdrawal screens as directed by the nurse.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Based on education, experience and credentials

  • Starting pay CNA - $16.18/hr
  • Starting pay CNA + Associates - $17.12/hr
  • Starting pay CNA + Bachelors - $18/hr
