The Network Operations Manager performs management and administrative duties overseeing all network, telephone, and fiber optic infrastructure, including, but not limited to design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and documentation while ensuring system security and maximizing uptime. Acts as the team lead. Examples of Duties Acts as the primary team member responsible for operational management. Designs, installs, configures, and maintains routing and switching equipment, telephony and voicemail systems, firewalls, VPN access, and wireless networks. Manages and coordinates with vendors to plan and successfully complete technology projects. Monitors the work activities of the team. Ensures that the team members are following policies/procedures. Participates in the hiring process and recommends disciplinary action of team members. Assists with the assignment of project tasks and service requests to team members. Represents the team in a variety of meetings. Mentors and provides for the personal growth of individual team members by sharing knowledge, industry standards, technological news, and demonstrating technical concepts. Ensures that established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met. Maintains network hardware inventory. Maintains monitoring/management tools related to the team's area of responsibility. Follows county policies and best practices related to information security; exercises good judgment to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Denton County computer systems and electronic records; supports compliance with CJIS, HIPAA, and other information security regulations; and holds subordinates to the same standards. Displays and reflects the culture, mission, vision, values, and direction of the department; inspires enthusiasm, belief, commitment, and excitement in subordinates. Regular and punctual attendance is required. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of four years of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required. The position may require various computer or technical-related certifications. Possession of a valid driver's license is required. Must obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of employment. Must not have any Class B misdemeanor or higher convictions or deferred adjudications.
