We are a For the People Dealer that has been serving Rockford Illinois area shoppers for the past 4 years. We have a unique sales approach and are committed to helping our customers get into the vehicles they deserve. Our approach is about building relationships, not selling cars and we demand world-class experience.
In the last year, we have become the largest volume preowned dealer in the area and are among the top dealers in the country for our segment of lenders.
Why we are looking: We believe the growth we have seen so far is due in part to the proactive approach we have taken to the changes in the market, our unique selling philosophy, and our commitment to our customers. Due to our growth, we are expanding to a new, much larger facility that will give us the capacity to far exceed our current goals.
Because of this goal, we are looking for an additional 2 sales reps who will market, present, and sell our products.
How we pay: The compensation plan is Salary, plus commission and additional cash bonuses. An estimated income for the first year is calculated to be between $85,000 to $97,000 for an average performer, and between $162,000 to $180,000 for a motivated individual. (Several of our salespeople earned well over $100,000 this year. How much did you make this year? ) There is no limit to the income earned with the top performers in our industry earning 7 figures. You will be paid on your individual performance! We do not guarantee the estimated income.
What is expected:
Primary tasks will include: setting appointments by phone and internet, basics of product knowledge, needs analysis, product consultation, handling of objections/questions, presenting offers to purchase, filling out appropriate paperwork, daily training, and following up with prospects.

Responsibilities:
Answer questions related to auto sales contracts and financing options while coordinating with the sales manager and finance service department
Leverage excellent customer service skills and negotiation skills to effectively close sales
Create a positive auto sales experience by taking a knowledgeable approach to presenting used car features, options, and differentiating characteristics
Accompany auto sales customers on test drives that you arrange
Take a professional approach to your role as a sales associate, whether working with customers in the showroom or collaborating with team members at sales meetings
Qualifications:
Requires knowledge in used car features, auto sales, car dealership protocols, financing options, and automotive sales
High school diploma mandatory; bachelors degree preferred
Strong communication skills, customer service skills, and an outgoing personality are critical
A valid, state-issued drivers license and clean driving record is mandatory
A minimum of one year of experience working as a car sales representative or in related sales jobs is needed

Who is Grote Automotive? Fred Grote has been in the car business for over 25 years. He opened his 1st store in Fort Wayne, IN in 2008. Growing from 25 cars a month to 200 he opened a 2nd store in Warsaw, IN. After Great success there his 3rd store came to Rockford, IL. The 4th and 5th stores have just arrived in IN in 2022 as well. We plan to open 1 more in 2024. We opened here in Rockford in December 2020 and have been growing FAST. We specialize in solving transportation problems that most dealerships can't.
