Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC) CVICU | Le Bonheur Children's Hospital | Student Loan Payback

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for planning and directing the delivery of primary heath care and health education programs in association with Methodist Healthcare Primary Care Associates (MHPCA).  The incumbent will provide care and health education for patients and their family. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

Le Bonheurs Heart Institute is nationally recognized as a top pediatric cardiology and heart surgery program.  We care for patients with congenital heart defects like y -heart failure and arrhythmias - and acquired heart disease from before birth to adulthood.

Le Bonheur also has a thriving heart transplant program that performs around 10 heart transplants a year.

Le Bonheur is currently expanding its Heart Institute and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). As a CVICU nurse practitioner, you will work with some of the countrys best critical care nurses and cardiologist in a critical care or step-down environment.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in the assigned center according to approved protocol and acceptable standards.
• Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to written, approved protocols developed with and under the supervision of the Medical Director/collaborating Physician.  Participates in the design and revision of protocols.
• Collaborates with Medical Physician and ancillary personnel as appropriate to promote quality care for patients.  Makes referrals as appropriate.
• Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care.
• Understands, applies and supports practice policies, procedures, goals and standards.
• Develops strong partnership with patients, family members, fellow physicians/nurses and support staff.  Focuses on high patient and family satisfaction and retention.
