Overview

A Maintenance Technician, is responsible for completing the service and repair of plant equipment and systems, resulting in reliable production runs with limited mechanical downtime. A Technician has strong mechanical, engineering and instrumentation skills and leads activities related to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance; troubleshooting and diagnosis of issues; and implementation of needed repairs. The Technician will also provide training and support for lower level Technicians.

Essential Duties
  • Fully understand all equipment and systems at Cyanco’s cyanide production plant.
  • Carry out all mechanical, electrical and instrumentation repairs (preventive and unscheduled); able to work unsupervised most of the time when carrying out these repairs.
  • Perform equipment failure analysis (preventive and unscheduled). Use mechanical and electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills; support other Technicians with their troubleshooting and diagnosis tasks.
  • Identify needed spare parts and notify Storehouse Lead and Maintenance Director for re-ordering.
  • Create and issue work orders and PMs.
  • Act as maintenance crew lead when needed.
  • Identify and make recommendations for continuous improvement and cost savings ideas.
  • Confer with technical and supervisory personnel to report and resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency and product quality.
  • Oversee maintenance contractors who are working onsite.
  • Coach, train and mentor lower Level Maintenance Technicians

  • Must be safety conscious with the ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety, comply with safety regulations, etc.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, MS Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Able to work within and support Cyanco’s Core Values
Minimum Education and Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
Minimum Experience
  • Demonstrated mastery of all Maintenance Technician skills
  • Fully knowledge of Cyanco’s plant, systems and equipment
  • Successful completion of safety and other training deemed appropriate by Cyanco
