Job Summary:

We are seeking a responsible and detailed-oriented Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team in the aftermarket auto parts industry. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for supervising the Accounting Manager and the underlying month end close process, as well as managing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, initiating process improvements and related documentation, and assisting with financial reporting and related audits. They should have a strong understanding of GAAP, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, internal processes and controls, and be engaged in continuous process improvement. The Assistant Controller should be a self-starter and leader, eager to grow and progress at the Company.

Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

· Supervise and support the accounting department and related month end responsibilities owned by the Accounting Manager

· Manage the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring reconciliations are completed within the month end close timeframe.

· Understand monthly P&L fluctuations for presentation to senior leadership.

· Own NetSuite administration and integration of new modules

· Research technical accounting issues

· Lead accounting and shared services process improvement and related SOP/internal control documentation in line with best practices.

· In addition to supervising the Accounting Manager, lead current team of Shared Services, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

o Oversee 1 Payroll Administrator and 1 A/P analyst, identifying discrepancies and reconciling accounts.

o Work with the Controller to consolidate and supervise A/R within Corporate

o Provide mentorship and growth opportunities to the team.

· Assist in additional financial reporting for outside stakeholders.

o Compile financial statements and related disclosures for the annual audit.

o Coordinate the detailed workpapers for the annual audit process.

o Coordinate the preparation of the detailed tax workpapers for the annual returns.

o Coordinate with FP&A for financial reporting to the ownership group and lenders

· Provide outstanding customer service across the operations group.

o Participate in monthly P&L calls across the distribution regions, including follow up and resolution of issues.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA required

· 10+ years of combined public accounting and industry experience, including demonstrated proficiency in managing and improving the general ledger function and month end/year end close processes.

· Strong supervisory and management skills

· Excellent understanding of GAAP and relevant accounting regulations

· Knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.

· Knowledge of shared services

· Proficient in accounting software with multiple locations (preferably NetSuite)

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (excel, word, etc.)

· Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

· Private equity and distribution experience is preferred.
