Cardiac Cath Lab Tech

The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech is responsible for performing invasive and interventional, cardiac, and special procedures to diagnose and treat patients. This includes neonatal, pediatric, and adult care, and is done in accordance with department policies and procedures.
The technologist must work effectively with patients, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel and always prioritize the patient's needs and provide utmost quality care. The job duties of the Cardiac Cath Lab Tech are as follows:
1. Perform all necessary procedures on patients in a timely and efficient manner.
2. Organize workload during high volume periods to expedite patient care and communicate all pending exams and pertinent information to other technologists.
3. Maintain and implement current skills and knowledge, policies, and procedures specific to radiology examinations and procedures. This includes maintaining specialized equipment and utilizing knowledge of radiology equipment.
4. Assist physicians in performing radiology procedures.
5. Promote positive relationships at the department level and present the department in a positive manner to other employees and staff.
6. Handle equipment safely and appropriately, maintaining a clean work area, and following equipment cleaning policies.
7. Willingly assist with procedures in any area of radiology when needed, checking with co-workers during downtime for need of assistance.
8. Maintain supplies with a minimum inventory and develop new methods of supply utilization.
9. Follow the “on-call” policy by responding to call back within an acceptable timeframe.
10. Follow attendance and tardiness policies.
11. Follow WRMC dress code and appearance policy.
12. Participate in required hospital and department in-services and meetings.
13. Follow safety and infection control policies.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
15. Be available for on-call duties, averaging 1-2 nights a week and 1 weekend every 3-4 week

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm with Call

Education and Experience Requirements: -
High School diploma or equivalent is required - An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Radiology is strongly preferred
- A minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience is strongly preferred - Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and have a valid license to practice in the State of Arkansas Certification Requirements:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) State License Requirements: -
A valid license to practice in the State of Arkansas is required Additionally,
BLS certification must be obtained upon hire or within 30 days of the hire date.
