PATIENT ACCOUNTS CLERK III

Full time, Monday - Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works initial insurance forms (researching benefits, obtaining authorizations, etc.)
  • Scans all benefit and authorization information into patient’s chart
  • Works the AR, retrieve and review EOB’s from payer websites and scan to network drive, call insurance companies, monitor and log insurance payments in a timely manner.
  • Handles claim rejections, medical record requests and refunds.
  • Prepares statement of accounts and follows collection procedures
  • Responsible for processing credit card payments and assist patients with any financial information regarding their accounts.
  • Process events, scan for errors and forward error report to assigned staff for collection.
  • Process reports daily/weekly/monthly. Responsible for un-processing and correcting insurance information and/or making adjustments to accounts.
  • Maintains log on collection balances, set up payment plan arrangements.
  • Runs monthly collection reports and maintains relationship with Collection agencies.
  • Cross trained to act as back-up for other positions as needed.
  • Available for other tasks or duties for this position as assigned by the supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma
  • Training in office and clerical functions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Data entry into multiple software applications
  • Knowledge of insurance in order to file claims in compliance with insurance variations

Ability to work under pressure, keep deadlines, work independently and carry out assignments to file claims accurately and timely
