Shipping & Receiving Specialist - Packaging & Distribution - Govt Con

Growing defense supply chain company seeks an experienced Shipping & Receiving Specialist to perform military packaging support for a high-volume order fulfillment distribution center in support of U.S. Department of Defense and Military related customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform packaging and labeling requirements to military specifications and standards for items on a daily basis
• Effectively communicate with vendors and customers both verbally and in written form and be a detail-oriented, problem solver of business challenges; must be able to work within a fast-paced environment with the ability to understand, communicate and execute leadership guidance
• Assist Shipping & Receiving Clerk to address inbound supplier shipment/fulfillment discrepancy resolution. Work with internal Quality and Contract stakeholders to ensure that that all fulfillment requirements and supporting documentation are included in customer shipment for all orders under your purview
• Physically capable to perform related tasks including, but not limited to, standing or sitting for long periods of time, safely using ladders to reach supplies on pallet racks, and frequently lifting and moving packages up to 75 pounds. Must be certified to operate a forklift

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED in relevant field or equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated job experience performing as a Shipping & Receiving Specialist – Military Packaging or related professional position performing similar duties and responsibilities as identified in this job description

• Effectively communicate with vendors and customers both verbally and in written form and be detail-oriented and a problem solver for business challenges; must be able to work within a fast-paced environment with the ability to understand and implement leadership guidance as demonstrated by his/her job performance
• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) required for successful job performance
• Physically capable to perform related tasks including, but not limited to, standing or sitting for long periods of time, safely using ladders to reach supplies on pallet racks, and frequently lifting and moving packages up to 75 pounds. Must be certified to operate a forklift

Desired Education/Experience/Job Requirements:

• Minimum of four (4) years of demonstrated job experience performing as a Shipping & Receiving Specialist – Military Packaging or related professional position performing similar duties and responsibilities as identified in this job description
