Network Systems Administrator

This is a remote position. We will only consider applicants within 1-hour driving distance within DMV/metropolitan Washington DC as this position requires 10% travel due to the nature of the position.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot servers and client networks
• Handle the installation and maintenance of server hardware, applications, and settings
• Oversee Active Directory and GPO management.
• Ensure network connectivity and security at the LAN level,
• Conduct IT security assessments for internal and external clients.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on network components.
• Support network monitoring and security efforts, including program installation and compliance.
• Monitor network performance and identify vulnerabilities.
• Standardize operating system images organization-wide.
• Optimize onboarding processes and software deployment for both local and remote staff.
• Implement network policies and procedures.
• Provide support for MEC applications and infrastructure to internal and external clients.
• Test product updates to ensure minimal user impact and compatibility.
• Exhibit strong communication and task management abilities.
• Administer VMware, Windows, and Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Develop support documentation with Visio, Smart Draw, Lucid Charts, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Utilize Atlassian Jira for ticket management, resolution, and documentation.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

• Demonstrated ability to organize effectively, collaborate with teams, and deliver exceptional customer service.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, including Windows 7-11 and Windows Server 2008-2022.
• Proficient in deploying and managing infrastructure services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RDS, and Group Policies.
• Over five years of experience in managing and administering MS Azure Cloud and MS Office 365, including OneDrive and SharePoint.
• Four-plus years of experience in overseeing a medium-sized Amazon AWS environment.
• More than six years of expertise in managing VMware ESXi and vCenter Server.
• At least six years of professional experience in a network administration role, with working knowledge of configuring Cisco, Brocade (Ruckus), and Aruba network equipment.
• Five or more years of hands-on experience with network, routing, switching, wireless, and VoIP technologies.
• Knowledgeable in disaster recovery and backup strategies, monitoring systems, and methodologies.
• Strong analytical abilities, with experience in both forward and reverse-chain troubleshooting techniques.

• An associate degree or bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area and/or equivalent experience.
• Active CISSP or CCNA certification is a plus.
• Active Microsoft Certifications are a plus.
• Holding an active CISSP or CCNA certification is a plus.
• Active Microsoft Certifications are a plus.
