Job Description
Position Summary:
The PhamPix Internship Program objective is to offer the pharmacy students comprehensive exposure to the PBM industry particularly the Drug Information Pharmacist role. The pharmacy intern will learn how to prepare monographs and present them to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. In addition, they will work closely with the Drug Information Pharmacist in the creation and updating PharmPix prior-authorization criteria. This position will report to the Drug Information Pharmacist.
Essential Job Functions: (Official Job Description must be included with the request)
Create and Update PharmPix Prior Authorization Criteria
Develop Drug Monographs
Present Drug Monographs and PA updates to the P&T and Coverage Determination team
Support Drug Information Pharmacist projects
Education:
Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program
Active Pharmacy Intern License
Experience:
3 to 4 years as a student in a pharmacy school
Skills & Knowledge:
Familiarity with pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices, including knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and pharmacy staff.
Meticulous attention to detail
A commitment to maintaining a high level of professionalism, ethical conduct, and adherence to pharmacy standards and guidelines.
