YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

Our Mission Critical & Systems Senior Electrical Engineer is a senior engineering role focused on Data Center & Mission Critical Projects. In this position, you will be responsible for providing technical engineering and assistance to ensure compliance with project requirements, engineering standards, applicable codes, specifications, and construction means and methods. As a seasoned professional, you will bring subject matter expertise in the mission-critical data center field, with extensive knowledge of data center electrical topologies. Additionally, you'll need to understand practical field installation methods, especially when working in a construction operations environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • You'll have Field Engineering activities and be involved with design review as it pertains to technical issues of system protection, control, monitoring, automation and/or power quality issues, or which are related to switchboards/switchgear, engine-generators, control/automation systems, UPS/battery systems, battery monitoring systems, EPMS/BMS systems etc.

  • Monitor and/or assist on site walks with the AHJ/GC/Owner, as appropriate, in order to address specific items of a technical or Code related. Engineer-level technical issues would include but not be limited to system LV or MV protection, controls, automation and/or power quality.

  • Monitor and/or assist with any technical issues that are not in compliance with the project requirements This includes issues associated with the installation of automated switchgear, control systems, EPMS/BMS systems, large LV or MV generators, digital relaying, UPS systems, battery systems and battery monitoring systems

  • Assist with coordination of, and technical oversight of, testing and start-up activities related to preparation of the integrated systems and/or intelligent systems and/or automated systems associated with the project.

  • Assist in creating site specific equipment startup documentation; MOP's, SBS's, etc

  • You'll have Design Engineering responsibilities and will supervise, review, comment, and process equipment and system submittals.

  • You'll supervise process coordination between architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and all electrical trades.

  • You'll oversee the preparation of designs, including power, lighting, and auxiliary systems. You'll oversee preparation of power system single-line diagrams, including feeder, over current protection sizing, and equipment elevations.

  • You'll supervise or conduct short circuit and over-current protection device coordination studies and Arc Flash Studies. You'll also supervise or conduct distribution analysis, including voltage drop, voltage droop, and underground heat effect (Neher-McGrath) calculations and oversee the project specifications or equipment buy-out.

  • Supervise or Utilize engineering analysis programs and professional judgment to analyze loads, lighting levels, and short circuit currents.

  • Work closely with the Rosendin Project Manager to coordinate the design criteria with budgetary issues and deliverables schedule on the projects they are assigned. Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors during project installation.

  • Generate project specifications appropriate for the project.

  • Develop a complete and accurate sequence of operations for all designed systems.

  • Working knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning.

  • Review plans and technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.

  • Supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with the city, state, county officials, and other outside agencies.

  • Oversee plans and specifications, establish schedules, and coordinate electrical engineering work.

    ·         Prepare documentation for the commissioning of a building.

    ·         Resolve various complex problems (i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements, technical issue resolution)

  • The duties and responsibilities describe this position's general nature and scope of work. This is a partial listing, and other responsibilities will be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

  • Advanced knowledge of electrical power systems including generators, transformers, motors, automated switch gear, protective relays, UPS systems, DRUPS systems, motor-generator sets, battery storage systems, substation equipment etc.

  • Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering subjects, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, energy conservation, value engineering, applicable codes, standards, etc., is required to design state-of-the-art constructible projects.

  • Proficient in Autodesk, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), Illumination software, and Oracle software pertaining to Engineering Productivity and CAC generation.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position

  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Bachelor's degree in power electrical engineering with 10 years' experience in the mission critical - data center environment.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of field experience

  • Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant applicable field experience with mission critical projects.

TRAVEL:

  • Up to 30%

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions, such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium

  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.

Pay Range

$99,800.00-$131,000.00 Annual

The pay range for this role is what we expect to pay for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description. Candidate's pay can vary based on location, job-related experience, skills, and education.
