N Street Village seeks a talented professional with strong writing, digital communications, social media management and creative content production skills for the position of Digital Communications Associate.

Under the direction of the Director of Communications, the Digital Communications Associate will support the promotion of N Street Village’s mission and services through its digital channels, including videography, photography, social media, email marketing, web, and online publications.

We seek a dynamic, entrepreneurial self-starter with keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects to support N Street Village’s online communications and brand.

Responsibilities

  • Support the digital marketing and promotions of N Street Village events and fundraising campaigns by developing compelling and engaging content using photos, videos, graphics, motion graphics, and social media stories.
  • Help create and execute on the social media content strategy; participate regularly in the agency’s digital communities (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn); monitor information posted on social media platforms; respond appropriately and in a timely way to engage supporters; prepare regular analytics reports with data on online channel performance, leveraging all available data insights.
  • Manage photo and/or video shoots from start to finish: develop creative briefs, concepts, and storyboards for digital content using the agency’s voice, brand, and style; film videos and take photos across all N Street Village locations, where needed; edit footage in post-production.
  • Organize and maintain video and photo files.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining the N Street Village website to ensure all pages are up to date with accurate information. Leverage website analytic tools to track and map out engagement, click rates, and trending data.
  • In collaboration with the Development team, develop N Street Village podcast; coordinate interviews, write titles and descriptions for each episode, and develop social media content to amplify episodes.
  • Provide communications support to the Volunteer and In-Kind team.
  • Provide general editing support with the ability to catch spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, graphic alignment, and formatting issues.

Required:

  • Excellent storytelling and digital communication skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with WordPress and the Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro
  • Proven videography and still photography skills
  • Proficiency working with social media channels
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team culture that values inclusivity, transparency, and authenticity
  • Values a community committed to providing inclusive services to women without regard to race, age, religion, physical or mental ability, or sexual orientation

Preferred:

  • Experience working with communities of color, with a commitment to cultural sensitivity and respect for differences.
  • Knowledge of email marketing and messaging platforms.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and other Microsoft software
