Job Description

The Production Support Technician is responsible for providing audio visual support to the MBC Staff and Volunteer Team(s) at all MBC Campuses and MBC integrated auxiliaries (i.e. Jill’s House). This support includes running audio, lighting, video, broadcast and ProPresenter, as well as, assisting with installation, configuration and maintenance of audio/video equipment at all MBC Campuses and offsite retreats/events. This position will monitor the help desk queue for incoming requests and respond in a timely manner.


Duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Provide audio visual support to all campuses and integrated auxiliaries
    • Running audio, lighting, video, broadcast and ProPresenter for weekend gatherings.
    • Monitor Help Desk queue for assigned tasks and repairs.
    • Complete room preparation, equipment pickup/returns, and setups as prescribed.
    • Accept deliveries at both loading docks and reception.
    • Monitor the two-way radio and helpdesk system to serve as the technical point of contact for ministry events and assist with resolution of technical issues.
    • Provide training to ministry employees and volunteers.
    • Assist volunteers and staff with the operation of technical equipment, including Audio, Video, and computers.
    • Provide support at all offsite retreats as needed throughout the year
    • Ensure that all equipment throughout the facility is neatly put away and powered down at the end of each shift.
    • Review and execute the intent of a line diagram.
    • Complete projects on time and meeting the designed parameters.
  • Specific Technical Skills
    • Determine run paths, drop locations, and termination strategy to install and terminate wire throughout the facility. Execute work.
    • Terminate and label all wire types to include RG-6 with BNC, mic line with XLR and ¼”, Cat cable with RJ-45, DB-9, Type-F, and other specialty terminations.
    • Install custom I/O plates.
    • Complete rack fabrications to include equipment loads, intra-rack wiring, power work, terminations of field wires to provided specifications.
    • Remove and install equipment from existing equipment racks, update inventory, and arrange for shipment or disposal as necessary.
    • Coordinate and execute plans to handle, hang, and focus stage lights, video projectors, and speakers.
    • Repair, diagnose, and source parts for equipment.
    • Replace speaker drivers, projection lamps, and lighting lamps.
    • Execute plans to complete carpentry, paint, and steel operations.
    • Remove debris to dumpsters.
    • Push cases and tools to their appropriate location.
  • Maintain the following specialty systems across all campuses to ensure excellent operation:
    • Maintain digital audio consoles, DSP, and distribution systems to include firmware updates, system patching, and configurations.
    • Maintain the broadcast and internet room encoders and distribution systems.
    • Ensure AV equipment on the MBC network is operational.
    • Ensure that these systems are fully tested after routine maintenance is performed.

Qualifications

  • This position requires five or more years of professional experience in working in the AV, Production or Engineering field.
  • Avixa CTS is preferred.
  • Prior church experience desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.

The typical schedule and daily duties for this position are as follows:

  • Saturday OFF

Schedule will adjust as needed to support various events and activities. Must be flexible on short notice.
