Job Description
Provide a high level of customer service by performing emergency road service, towing, accident recovery, and police impound towing and /or abandoned vehicle recovery using assigned truck and towing equipment in a professional, safe workmanlike manner as trained. Operate Light Duty to Medium Duty wreckers to tow small box trucks; cars. Operate rollbacks for recovery, rollovers and winch outs. Perform timely and correct logging with dispatch, paperwork, daily reports and/or other necessary documentation. Will perform the duties of Wrecker Operator.

- Communicate with dispatch in a professional manner and be informative as it relates to information necessary to document your status in serving a call as well as accurate ETA’s when requested
- Provide a high level of customer service in a professional, ethical manner
- Professionally and safely perform emergency road service duties as may be dispatched, such as:
- Change flat tires; airing up tires that are low
- Jump start vehicles whose batteries pass road test and are only discharged and unable to start the vehicle
- Deliver a few gallons of fuel to those out of gas
- Perform minor repairs
- Perform lock out procedures for customers who have locked their keys in their car
- Perform damage free towing
- Perform accident towing and scene cleanup
- Inspect truck and related equipment, tools, rigging, inventory and complete and turn in your pre-shift inspection prior to beginning duty each day
- Maintain truck fluid levels according to manufacturer’s standards and note quantities added on the pre-shift inspection
- Trucks are to be kept clean inside and out; tools and equipment are to be stored in the designated locations and kept in workmanlike condition; damage tools and equipment or missing must be reported immediately
- Must use vehicles as assigned by supervisor
- At times when “on call” and other duty time MUST answer phones/emails/texts immediately and respond within the required ETA for specific call.
- Fuel tanks to be kept full at all times
- Be well-groomed, wearing a clean uniform and safety jacket or vest at all times with identifying name and company name clearly visible
- Perform work safely at all times
- Wear required PPE at all times
- Attend all required safety training
- Attend all required wrecker training
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Experience Required:
- Current DOT Physical
- Pass Drug test according to DOT requirements
- Pass Background check
- Be insurable under company’s Insurance carrier
- High school diploma or GED

- Mechanical abilities to make minor repairs to vehicles
- Regular required to be able to use hands, fingers, be able to feel, hear, stand walk, reach with hands and arms to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; sit in vehicle seat for extended periods; perform significant amount of lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, listen and respond to radio phone communications; good vision
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, air born particles, toxic and caustic fumes; noise levels ae usually moderate
