Salary:

This is a Senior Desktop Support Engineer position for supporting a DoD program located in Fort Belvior, Virginia. 


Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Desktop Support Engineer to join our team, responsible for managing all aspects of fielded program equipment for our users. This position includes a variety of tasks from installation to lifecycle management of the equipment, ensuring optimal connectivity and security for network and encryption devices both domestically (CONUS) and overseas (OCONUS).


Your Impact:

  • Design, analyze, develop, integrate, document, test, implement, support, and train users to guarantee network and encryption device connectivity.
  • Undertake system architecture engineering for fielded equipment.
  • Conduct system modernization and lifecycle refreshes, including research, proof of concept, testing, installation, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Perform installations, upgrades, replacements, problem-solving, and testing to ensure equipment reliability, supported by thorough documentation and user follow-up.
  • Coordinate and document Site Surveys, engaging with host unit officials to discuss various site-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with User Support for seamless resolution of equipment issues for all users.
  • Execute system patches, upgrades, configurations, and troubleshooting using up-to-date Microsoft technology stacks.
  • Assist the Government with inventory management of fielded equipment using the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
  • Develop and conduct training lesson plans and equipment operations training for site users.
  • Ensure comprehensive Operating System and System Administrator training for proper equipment use and troubleshooting.
  • Provide user site support for DoD NIPRNet connectivity issues and work with various defense network operations for VPN implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Server versions, Microsoft Exchange, and Active Directory Structure and Administration.
  • Experience with system administration, network architecture, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to coordinate with DoD, DISA, and various branch network operations for VPN and connectivity solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Familiarity with DPAS and government equipment inventory protocols is preferred.
