Glenn Medical Center is a Critical Access Hospital located in Willows CA, in partnership with our physicians, will consistently strive to provide accessible, high quality care within the local community. Our focus is on improving the health and well-being of all individuals by offering inpatient, outpatient and rural health clinic services to the Glenn County community.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Facility Operation Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the facility, grounds, general maintenance including electrical, plumbing, and painting. Utilizing effective planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling mechanisms, the Facility Operations Manager ensures that efficient and effective services are provided while enhancing attainment of facility objectives.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in provision of maintenance, environmental and housekeeping services. Knowledge of Accreditation/OSHA regulations and standards required. College preparation related to building construction, maintenance, and HVAC certifications preferred but not required.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Plans, directs, and supervises departmental and technical aspects of the Facility Operations related to building, plant, and grounds maintenance and safety and the Environmental Services Department (EVS) related to housekeeping and floor maintenance.
  2. Maintains services in accordance with standards established by the hospital, federal, state, and local standards.
    • Ensures that all requirements for building, plant, and grounds safety are maintained with documentation of routine inspections in accordance with standards.
    • Ensures that all required inspections and certifications by local agencies are maintained.
  3. Establishes and maintains a Quality Control Program to ensure consistent reliability of the function of all equipment in the facility.
    • Establishes and maintains a Preventive Maintenance Program for all equipment within the facility with routine documentation of service.
    • Establishes and maintains a system for the immediate inspection and repair of equipment.
  4. Establishes and maintains a Quality Control Program to ensure consistent reliability of the function of all essential utility services within the facility.
    • Establishes and maintains an ongoing inspection program for essential utilities with documentation of all inspections and any corrective actions taken.
    • Provides mechanisms for back-up services for essential utilities.
  5. Maintains all equipment and supplies required in the provision of departmental services in optimum operational status with procurement or replacement of equipment as needed.
  6. Assumes responsibility for all departmental equipment and supply purchasing.
  7. Ensures appropriate utilization of all supplies and equipment within the department with ongoing training of personnel for safe use.
  8. Participates in quality improvement activities in conjunction with hospital programs to facilitate the delivery of quality services in the most cost-effective manner possible.
  9. Facilitates communication between the Operations/EVS Department and other hospital departments to enhance services.
  10. Maintains high degree of competency in the provision of department services in order to provide appropriate supervision of personnel directly responsible for these services.
  11. Maintains all operational policies and procedures within the Hospital Operations/EVS Department to ensure the provision of safe, efficient services.
  12. Actively participates in all hospital committees which impact on the Hospital Operations/EVS Department with specific responsibility on the Safety and Infection Control Committees.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Office.
