The Le Meridien Sheraton Charlotte Hotel is currently seeking a dynamic, motivated, and service-oriented individual for the position of Conference Service Attendant to join our team at our StepStone Hospitality managed hotel. The Le Meridien Sheraton Hotel, located in Uptown Charlotte, is a 605-room dual complex with 65,000 sq. ft of meeting and conference space. The ideal candidate will have at least three to six months related experience within full service banquet team, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for delivering excellent service.


Key responsibilities of an Attendant include:

· Ensure that details are followed from the banquet event order (BEO) when applicable.

· Ensure that all areas and corners of meeting space are detailed and cleaned.

· Provide guests with the finest quality of service at all times and in a warm and enthusiastic manner.

· Ensure that the banquet storage areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition.

· Ensure that all banquet rooms are cleared and securely locked, and ensure all equipment is stored in the designated area.

· Immediately relay guest compliments or complaints to management.

· Submit maintenance requests to the engineering department for broken or damaged equipment.

· Assist staff with room set ups, food service, and clean up when necessary.

· Maintain StepStone and hotel standards of food, beverage, and quality guest service.

· Ensure guest satisfaction by delivery of an exceptional product.


Requirements:

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Ability to scrupulously follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
  • Ability to stand, walk and move around during entire shift
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests using a positive, clear speaking voice
  • Must have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Requires the ability to read write and speak the English language.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions and uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations; includes the ability to respond promptly to customer needs and requests for service and assistance.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
  • Knowledge of and ability to appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to audience whether oral or written.
  • Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule to be at work and on time. May occasionally require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours. Schedules may vary based on business need.
  • Minimum lifting of 75 pounds.
  • Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity.
  • Hearing, writing, typing.
  • Minimum pulling of 75 pounds.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
