South Mountain Creamery is a dairy farm family: we bottle our own milk and make our own butter, yogurt, and ice cream. We brought the milkman back in 2001 and have been making home deliveries to the DMV area for 23 years and counting!
We are currently accepting applications for Spring and Summer Tour Guides.
Tour Guide Job Overview
We love having the opportunity to share our passion for farming and food with others. The selected individual(s) will provide Guided Tours on select Saturday, as well as Private Tours to groups of 10 or more. When you lead a guided tour, you will teach customers first-hand about farming, the importance of agriculture, and what really happens on the farm every day.

- How our milk gets from cow to bottle in our Milking Parlor
- How the cows live the cushy life at the Loafing Barn
- About mom life at the Maternity Ward
- How we keep our calves healthy and safe, and more!
General Job Responsibilities
- Greeting and welcoming customers to the tour
- Navigating younger groups of children safely around the farm
- Informing customers about the itinerary for each tour
- Maintains knowledge of assigned locations
- Creates and modifies the tour’s itinerary
- Prepares required materials and props to make storytelling more engaging
- Shares stories and facts about each location
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Physically able to walk and stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication skills with a knack for storytelling
- Creative thinker and capable of improvisation
