Location: Washington, DC (Remote)

xScion is seeking a Tech Lead Architect for a consulting project aimed at defining the future state technology strategy and architecture for cloud adoption across various cloud infrastructures. The project will focus on ensuring that standard technologies, tools, patterns, practices, and processes are leveraged while identifying transitional milestones for applications rehosted in the cloud. 

As Tech Lead Architect, You Will 

• Strategy Development: Define and articulate a clear vision for the future state of technology architecture, focusing on cloud adoption across multiple cloud infrastructures (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). 
• Architecture Design: Design a robust, scalable, and secure cloud architecture that supports the organization's business objectives, while also facilitating a smooth transition from on-premises to cloud environments. 
• Technology Evaluation: Continuously evaluate emerging cloud technologies and platforms to ensure the adoption strategy remains relevant and effective. Recommend tools and technologies that align with the project's goals. 
• Standardization: Develop and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and processes for cloud adoption, ensuring consistency and quality across all implementations. 
• Milestone Identification: Identify key transitional milestones for applications being rehosted in the cloud, including critical success factors for each phase of the migration. 
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT leadership, development teams, and business stakeholders to ensure the cloud adoption strategy meets business needs and integrates seamlessly with existing processes. 
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with the cloud transition and develop mitigation strategies to address them effectively. 
• Knowledge Sharing: Act as a subject matter expert in cloud technologies, providing guidance and mentoring to team members and stakeholders. Lead knowledge sharing sessions to ensure teams are well-informed and equipped to support the cloud adoption strategy. 
• Decision Frameworks: Support the development of technology decision frameworks to assist business groups in selecting the most appropriate technology for their applications based on the framework’s decision criteria. 
• Technology Currency: Define a high-level current state of technology currency for key architectural components and recommend future technologies for each key component in the future state technical currency. 

To Be Successful, You Need:  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 
• 10+ years of proven experience in architecture roles with a significant focus on cloud technologies and enterprise-scale cloud adoption projects. 
• Strong understanding of various cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience designing multi-cloud solutions. 

• Deep knowledge of cloud security practices, disaster recovery strategies, and compliance standards. 
• Experience in developing technology strategies, architectural standards, and transition roadmaps for cloud adoption. 
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and engage with senior stakeholders. 
• Certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
• US Citizenship required
