If you know how to tell a great story, we have an exciting role for you. We seek a highly motivated and curious Proposal and Contracts Specialist who wants to dive in and take a leadership role in the proposal and contracts development process.


About the Role

As a Proposal and Contracts Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, organizing, and managing a diverse set of commercial and government opportunities. You will need to act with an entrepreneurial spirit and approach proposals with an innovative mindset. You will work across a variety of teams as you collaborate closely with colleagues across departments.


Job Responsibilities:

· Review proposal request announcements carefully to evaluate alignment with business strategy and product/capability roadmap.

· Manage all aspects of the proposal process including the creation of timelines, storyboard creation, budgets, and final review/submission of proposals.

· Facilitate and contribute to the creation of a compelling solution that addresses the statement of work and evaluation criteria.

· Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations to supervisors and stakeholders.

· Support client outreach, training, and workshop coordination.


Essential Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., geosciences, aeronautics, business administration).

· Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.

· Exceptional organization, time management skills, and attention to detail.

· Ability to adapt to various people and working styles under tight deadlines.


Helpful Qualifications:

· Master’s and/or Ph.D. degree

· Demonstrated ability to write a compelling story and successful proposals, with focus on weather and/or aviation.

· Knowledge of Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), Broad Agency Announcements (BAA), or other government programs

· Experience independently defining, scheduling, and managing the proposal preparation process, including the ability to understand and analyze the details and requirements of a Request for Proposal (RFP)

· High proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat

· Flexibility to travel, at least 10% of the time
