The Role

AArete is actively seeking a dynamic Senior Consultant specializing in strategic cost reduction, strategic sourcing, or strategic profitability improvement. As an AArete Senior Consultant, you will work closely with clients to obtain an understanding of critical issues and create strategies for meaningful change. In doing so, you'll leverage your analytical skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to excellence. High-performing, self-starter, critical thinker with exceptional communication skills is how you are described. You take the lead to research business challenges, data analytics, business case development, driving sourcing or cost reduction strategies, and supporting project success.

In this role, you'll fill a pivotal role demonstrating in-depth practical knowledge and skills within Sourcing, Procurement and/or Supply Chain Management domains to successfully execute project goals and deliver analytical results. As a high-performing, self-starting critical thinker, you'll play a key role in our strategic profitability improvement consulting team.

Work You'll Do

• Conduct in-depth analysis and research of business problems within the following domains: sourcing, cost reduction, supply chain, strategic profitability improvement, or procurement
• Determine potential solutions through thorough research, analytics, and interviews
• Create compelling business cases that not only address identified issues but also align with our clients' broader strategic objectives
• Develop complex cost reduction strategies including rate renegotiation, demand management, utilization management, or holistic business change
• Present findings and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders with clarity and accuracy
• Understand client needs and deliverables, emphasizing the importance of insightful and thoughtful questioning to uncover the root cause
• Provide crucial support during the implementation phase, ensuring the seamless integration of innovative solutions
• Lead and coach Analysts and Consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment

Requirements

• 4+ years of consulting experience
• 2+ years of experience within sourcing, cost reduction, procurement, or strategic profitability improvement
• Bachelor's degree required
• Advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong project/process management; ability to balance and prioritize competing responsibilities
• High self-motivation, accountability, and encouragement toward others
• Exceptional independent judgment
• Creative and innovative mindset
• Cultural flexibility/adaptability
• Direct client interaction, including possible travel to client location
• Applicants must be based in Chicago, IL and flexible to work from our Chicago office as needed
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with AArete's other focus industries: Healthcare Payers & Providers, Financial Services, Education, Retail & Consumer, Transportation, Logistics, & Distribution, Public Sector, and Technology & Professional Services
• Proficiency with SQL
