Headquartered in Atlanta, American Insulated Glass is a leading glass fabricator and wholesale distributor, specializing in providing high-quality insulated, laminated, tempered, fire-rated, and beveled glass products to glazing contractors and window manufacturers. Dedicated to serving both commercial and residential end markets, AIG also distributes a full line of float glass, mirror, and decoration glass solutions.
AIG is seeking to hire a full-time plant manager that will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed in the Ijamsville, Maryland area.
Pay:

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic leadership, vision and sets clarity of direction for the plant.
- Establishes performance metrics, standards, and measurements for direct reports and the operation as a whole and delivers timely, objective, and actionable feedback on performance to plan.
- Acts as a coach, mentor, and role model for his or her direct reports and the facility, maintaining the highest corporate governance principles.
- Manages disciplinary issues including corrective actions as needed.
- The Plant Manager is responsible for leading the plant team and setting the standard for the AIG culture.
- This position has direct supervisory responsibility for the production team, quality, EHS, and various operational support roles at the plant.

Key responsibilities & duties:
- Assigns responsibilities for tasks and results, setting clear goals and objectives.
- On-going report-outs to Executive Team on established results and progress.
- Manages operation to achieve/exceed agreed-upon growth, revenue, and operating income objectives.
- Implements and maintains visual management standards identifying and reporting problems and issues for resolution.
- Champions a continuous improvement culture infusing Lean methodology and knowledge, and supporting continued cost reductions, waste reductions, process automation, quality improvements, and on-time delivery.
- Ensures that products are delivered on time to customers and that products meet all customer expectations regarding quality and performance.
- Works proactively with and effectively engages functional counterparts to ensure overall organizational success.
- Develops talent across the facility, enhancing bench and operational leadership pipeline.
- Supports the creation of safety goals for the site and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive a safety culture, compliance, and results.
- Unwavering commitment to driving an open reporting environment with a focus on EHS and Quality compliance.
- Collaboratively works with the Executive Leadership Team to establish a future state road map that will be used for capital, labor, and facility requirements.

Required Skills/ Abilities:
- Must have experience in managing insulated glass operation, heavy glass fabrication, and glass tempering.
- Must have experience directly with customer communications and support
- Ability to maintain KPI requirements for the plant process.
- Ability to develop a Culture of Safety, Productivity, and Inclusiveness
- Ability to develop strategies to increase productivity and production
- Ability to analyze production metrics and data to determine areas of improvement
- Ability to develop strategies to improve the overall customer experience.
- Ability to hire and maintain a strong team.
- Ability to be the liaison between Sales, Planning, and Production
Education & Experience:
- Must have 5-7 years of direct management experience in glass manufacturing or a similar setting.
- Bachelors in engineering, operations management or related technical discipline (preferred but not required).
- Must have an Associate Degree relevant to education.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 50lbs, stand for prolonged periods of time, work indoors and outdoors.
- Must be willing to work multi-shift 24/5 with leadership experience.
