Grounds Maintenance Crew Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for maintaining an aesthetically pleasing and functioning outdoor space along with ensuring the property is in good repair and the image of the facility is upheld to the GreenEarth standard.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures landscape beds are properly landscaped through weeding, light pruning, and other care as needed
• Mulches as needed around landscaped plants
• Daily maintenance of landscapes, tree pruning, or shrubs,
• Ensures sidewalks and walkways are free of debris and trash, including the removal of trash liners and replacing as needed
• Cleaning of onsite restrooms and office areas as necessary
• Wipes down and cleans job site property including but not limited to benches, tables, chairs, and bike racks
• Maintains a clean and safe work site including proper maintenance and care of all company equipment
• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
• Position may perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 1-year janitorial or landscaping experience preferred, not required

• Ability to work effectively and in a positive manner independently
• Ability to perform all aspects of job tasks in a safe manner
• Ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks
• Attention to detail in all responsibilities and duties

• Outdoor conditions
• Extended work hours during peak seasons - including festivals, parades, parties, etc.
• Requires substantial physical activity performing activities of a productive and technical nature; regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions of extreme heat and extreme cold; potential exposure to air pollution, allergens, dust, pollen, insects, and other potentially harmful naturally occurring hazards
• The work may be repetitive and physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, or shoveling.
