Job Description
Currently, in our Anderson, CA office, we are looking to recruit a MECHANIC to perform repairs on construction heavy equipment (i.e. sweepers, milling machines, road striping equipment, propane and diesel fired heaters, etc.)
Union wages + benefits (medical, dental, and vision insurance, pension and paid sick leave)
Working Conditions outdoors; some local traveling. Exposure to various weather conditions, dust, fumes, and hazardous materials such as solvents, adhesives, paints, hot oil and other chemicals.
8hr+ work days / 40hr+ work weeks (as needed-can include nights/weekends).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Repairs and maintains construction equipment of various types and sizes from light-duty to heavy-duty operating equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions as they arise
- Perform preventative maintenance following operations manuals as well as electrical and hydraulic diagrams/ A/C units
- Remove and replace defective parts using hand and power tools
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance when used
- Fabricate, weld and cut parts, using arc-welding/ wire feed and flame cutting equipment
- Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
- Ability to work safely and follow established Company Safety Policies
- Perform DOT Inspections
- Perform related and other duties as requested
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Degree or certifications in mechanics, or similar field
EXPERIENCE:
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Valid Class A Driver's License and a clean driving record (Haz Mat endorsement or ability to obtain is a plus)
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must be able to pass the pre-employment drug screening including the use of Marijuana
- Must have experience with diesel engines, DOT, and hydraulics
- Must have a manual-hand-finger dexterity
- Must have eye-hand-foot coordination
- Must be able to lift and/or transport +50 pounds
- Must be able to work in internal/external environments that may be in harsh weather conditions
- Exhibit teamwork
