The math offered will be designed for a three-week curriculum that will be given twice during the summer period to two different groups of scholars. Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assessing individual learning styles and adapting teaching methods to fit
  • Creating a classroom and school environment that engages student interest, promotes student leadership, and stimulates student learning

  • Managing administrative assignments effectively and with a high level of professionalism and integrity
  • Modeling and contributing to a school culture of hope and high expectations for achievement
  • Committing to individualized education for all students so that students with IEPs do not feel stigmatized and receive the services to which they are entitled

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related subject field
  • Must have or be eligible for certification in the appropriate content area
  • Experience working with incarcerated or opportunity youth is desirable
