Analytica is seeking a remote Data Engineer to support federal government client engagements in the Washington DC metro area. The ideal candidate will design and develop scalable data solutions using data integration tools and technologies. Additionally, the Data Engineer will integrate, test data pipelines with Advance Analytics and AI platforms. Must be proficient with multiple data engineering and integration tools such as Scala, Python, Spark, Snowflake, Redshift etc. in an AWS environment.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):  

  • Transfer data between environments such as external file transfer, internal databases, and file systems. 

  • Collaborate with data engineering and development teams to design, develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using SQL scripts, Redshift stored procedures, and other AWS tools and services 

  • Collaborate with our engineering and data teams to understand business requirements and data integration needs, translate them into effective data solutions, that yield top-quality outcomes. 

  • Assemble data storage and process infrastructure that allows working nimbly through extensive amounts of data analytics.  

  • Design and build robust and scalable solutions for managing structured and unstructured data using traditional databases (PostgreSQL, etc.), Redshift or Snowflake, and NoSQL (Hadoop, Spark, etc.), tools 

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, or equivalent technical field  

  • 5+ years creating data pipelines using cloud based ETL tools, like AWS Glue (AWS preferred) 

  • 5+ years coding experience (Java and Python preferred) 

  • 3+ years’ hands on experience with big data technologies (Spark, Snowflake, Redshift or similar technologies) 

  • Extensive experience working on relational NoSQL and SQL databases 

  • Experience designing and implementing various data pipeline patterns and strategies 

  • Strong knowledge of data security principles 

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
