Your day as a Senior Human Resources Assistant

What you need to be successful

To thrive in the role of Senior Human Resources Assistant at Arena Stage, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, along with at least two years of HR experience. A commitment to obtaining a Professional Human Resources Certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) within 12 months is essential. Proficiency in full-cycle recruitment, data entry, and utilizing HRIS systems like ADP is crucial. Successful candidates must be adept in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to type at least 50 words per minute accurately. Knowledge of Federal and DC employment laws, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise independent judgment are key competencies for this role.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while managing HR compliance requirements with precision and efficiency.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's or equivalent combination of education, training and/or work experience.
  • Two (2+) or more years of Human Resources experience
  • Professional Human Resources Certification (SHRM-CP or PHR preferred) or commitment to obtain within 12 months.

  • Accurately Type at least 50 wpm.
  • Windows 10 or 11 Office Applications (Word
  • Microsoft Word and Excel (Intermediate to Advanced level); Microsoft certification preferred.
  • Internet research.

  • Must be able to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality and use independent judgement.

  • Must be a strong self-starter and can independently oversee tasks and projects to completion.
