Job Summary

Reporting to the CEO, with a dotting line to the Foundation Board, has primary responsibility for the EHS Foundation, including EHS branding, networking, advocacy, and community relations. This role will be responsible for researching, identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporations, corporate foundations, and private foundations. This position will work closely with volunteers and actively work to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with the corporate and foundation sectors, as well as other key communities, that will result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals of the EHS Foundation. This role will be expected to maintain strong communication ties with corporate and foundation donors and prospects.


STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

  1. Coordinates EHS Foundation activities and serves as the liaison with the Foundation Board.
  2. Represents the EHS Foundation in relevant community functions, business meetings, legislature meetings, and other external forums.
  3. Develops foundation-focused communications plans, donor mapping, and engagement plans in alignment with EHS’s strategic plan and EHS business and corporate functions.
  4. Promotes and integrates Effingham Health System’s mission and vision strategies with community, governmental, and civil society stakeholders.
  5. Submits proposals to government agencies, foundations, philanthropic organizations, and other grant-awarding bodies for award consideration and approval.
  6. Coordinates, plans, and implements activities and resources necessary to achieve event campaign goals and fundraising objectives.
  7. Provides staff support in the areas of volunteer recruitment, event logistics, year-round planning, sponsorship solicitation, and evaluation of assigned events.
  8. Recruits, develops, manages, and cultivates corporate accounts and sponsorships to support events.
  9. Supports corporate partners and team leaders effectively.
  10. Manages events to provide adequate customer service, troubleshooting, day-night of event logistical support, and completion.
  11. Represents the organization in the communities and establishes relationships with community leaders.
  12. Develop, review, and revise policies, plans, projects, and programs of the Foundation’s fundraising committees’ philanthropy volunteers.
  13. Follows up with donors through correspondence to include gift acknowledgments and pledge payment reminders in a timely manner.
  14. Ensures preparation of Foundation fundraising and campaign financial reports and records according to established procedures and time frames
  15. Responsible for maintaining the prospect lists for the Foundation committees and the mailing list for appeal letters
  16. Supervises the deposits, recording, receipting, and acknowledgment of all Effingham Health System Foundation gifts received
  17. Ensures donor records are maintained on a current basis both manually and electronically
  18. Ensures the integrity and security of donor information and adheres to policy and procedures.
  19. Manages and collaborates with volunteers to promote and support local initiatives and to optimize event market strategy.
  20. Attends all meetings of the fundraising committees
  21. Prepares scheduled and/or special reports and other documents for Foundation fundraising committees
  22. Prepares minutes from Foundation committee meetings for distribution with notices and agendas
  23. Performs all other duties as assigned.



Requirements:

Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor's degree with course work in Business, Journalism, Marketing/Public Relations preferred. A combination of training, education, and or experience that provided the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered when determining minimum qualifications.

Formal Training: Skills with experience in critical thinking, analytics, planning, organizing, implementing, facilitating, interviewing, interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communications.

Licensure, Certification, Registration: CFRE certification is highly preferred

Work Experience: Minimum of (5) years foundation fundraising and/or community work experience in coordinating and representing organizational activities and acting as a liaison to local, state, and/or federal officials, to include foundation and coordinating additional funding sources.

Computer Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
