POSITION SUMMARY

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is an evidenced-based practice that offers treatment, rehabilitation, and community integration services to individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness. ACT uses a person-centered, recovery-based approach to care and entails a team approach, flexible service delivery, and 24/7 crisis availability.

The ACT Clinical Manager will provide leadership and supervision to the clinical staff. The Clinical Manager will coordinate clinical services and monitor staff and ensure provided services meet quality standards and adhere to state, federal, and grantor regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide oversight and monitor the daily clinical operation of the ACT team, scheduling staff work hours, team meetings, treatment planning meetings, continuously evaluating the status of clients and plan appropriate to address changing needs.
  • Regularly evaluate individual and overall team performance; use collected data and information to make needed improvements including adjustments to caseloads and work assignments to maximize quality of care, and staff productivity.
  • Assures staff and program goals are met in accordance with established program policies and procedures, regulations and guidelines issued by the District of Columbia Department of Behavioral Health and Department of Health, Medicaid Program and other applicable laws and regulations and professional standards.
  • Develop and review treatment plans and clinical interventions.
  • Approve and countersign supervisee’s clinical documents.
  • Audits client records to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifically monitors treatment plans, progress notes, medication, education and management, discharge summaries and plans.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships within agency and outside agencies for referral and linkage sources as well as knowledge and regulatory authorities.
  • Support and comply with the values, policies, and practices of Hillcrest Children and Family Center.
  • Abide by the organization’s confidentiality policies and HIPPA rules.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in one of the Behavioral Health/Social Services sciences
  • Current unencumbered LICSW or LPC license in the District of Columbia
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience providing services to ethnically diverse children, youth, and families.
  • Strong charting/documentation skills utilizing an electronic medical record.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Bilingual skills a plus.
  • Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
