Job Description

The person in this role will be responsible for delivering in-depth analysis and making profitability recommendations for our Corporate Brands (private label) Division. The financial analyst will conduct quantitative sales analysis to assess opportunities, including probability modeling, and will partner with key stakeholders to communicate results to help the teams make informed business decisions.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the collection, analysis, evaluation, and reporting of sales and business unit-related data with a focus on increasing overall sales productivity.
  • Provides periodic analysis regarding the financial performance of the business unit.
  • Develops models and reporting structure in order to identify costs (by function, process, fixed, and variable) per unit (by store, order, script, other) and identifies baseline for action.
  • Updates and reports forecasts and latest estimates (LE) to the segment periodically.
  • Searches and analyzes external information and data relevant to the segment including POS, spin reports, industry reports, etc.
  • Analyzes line of business operations (product lines, accounts, markets, etc.) to determine profitability; provides recommendations or suggestions for improvement.
  • Analyzes requests for proposals, coordinates response planning with sales, and develops a schedule for bid preparation to provide competitive and accurate information in a timely manner for new business, new items, etc.
  • Responsible for the development and tracking of KPIs - critical to enhance the understanding of the business and to improve decision-making.
  • Creates standardized and custom reports and conducts quantitative product and sales analysis.
  • Provides support to internal, retailer, and customer promotions, as well as assess future needs and data integrity.
  • Develops standardized tools, methodologies, and business processes aimed at improving operational efficiencies.
  • Analyzes results and sets up reports containing respective conclusions, ideas, and product management.
  • Communicates results to key stakeholders in order to support informed business decisions by providing in-depth analysis and recommendations.
  • Conducts quantitative analysis, including but not limited to, ROI, trending, identification, and assessment of opportunity and risk, forecasting, regressions, correlation, cannibalization, and probability modeling.
  • Provides post decision analysis on product launches, promotional spending, etc.
  • Generates ad hoc reporting for sales, marketing, pricing, business planning, and product management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in finance, statistics, or accounting – CPG experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and statistical knowledge, with thorough attention to detail is required
  • Must display a sense of urgency with ability to solve problems, think logically, develop solutions, and provide insight
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to convey complex information to a broad audience with excellent group presentation skills
  • Ability to capture and document business and reporting requirements from multiple sources
  • Must be able to coordinate and manage multiple high priority data analysis requests of varying size and scope
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications including Word and PowerPoint with expertise in Excel and working with pivot tables
  • Must be collaborative with strong ability to maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of the organization (both internally and externally) while resolving problems and providing guidance
