Summary of the role:

We are currently looking for a Billing Analyst to join our Power Supply division at our Manassas, Virginia location. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain and execute billing for defined large commercial accounts (i.e., Key Accounts). This includes aggregating data inputs and executing billing as required.

Overview of the role:

  • Supports the creation and administration of the annual power cost adjustment report.
  • Collects customer usage information from multiple sources, including external and internal.
  • Cleans, verifies, and standardizes data into a structured format for bill calculation.
  • Collaborates with Business Development and Power Supply teams to review and approve bill(s) before distribution.
  • Generates and distributes bills on a standard frequency (e.g., weekly and/or monthly).

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Coursework in quantitative analysis and Computer programming knowledge or at least one year of job/employment experience and knowledge working (querying) large databases with Microsoft SQL is required. One to three years of related experience in a similar role is required with utility or related industry experience preferred.

Professional Skills and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency with general computer operation and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and meet rapidly changing customer and business needs by quickly refocusing and realigning strategic and operational direction.
  • Capacity to comprehend current rate structures and ability to calculate different scenarios with each.
  • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all company policies and procedures as well as all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
