WINE SERVER/EDUCATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Turks Head Wines was founded in 2022 by Allison Owen based on her vision to bring the California wine tasting experience to West Chester PA. All of Turks Head wines are sourced, produced and bottled in Northern California before making their way across the country to serve the local community of wine lovers.
Our goal is to create a team with a shared love of wine, a passion for hospitality and a desire to create unique and lasting experiences that continue long after our guests leave our Tasting Room. We are seeking enthusiastic, outgoing individuals who thrive in a team-based environment and are excited to pass along wine knowledge to others.
About the Role:
The Wine Server/Educator position is one that promotes excellent guest service and top tier wine knowledge. Our goal is to provide a unique wine experience within our Tasting Room and the Wine Server/Educator is the key role to executing on that vision. Candidates applying for this role should expect to provide an elevated level of hospitality, cultivated wine tasting experiences and recommendations that are catered to each guest. We offer competitive pay with additional earning potential via tips and bonuses for facilitating private tastings.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide a high level of guest service & hospitality
Educate guests on Turks Head Wines history, wine portfolio, winemaking process, vineyards and programs
Execute varying tasting programs
Participate in various winery events, including private events or off-site functions
Promote wine club memberships to guests
Assist with the packing and shipping of orders, as needed
Attend and participate in the regularly scheduled tasting room staff meetings,
tastings, and other team events as needed
Understand and execute open and closing procedures
Effectively operate Turks Head Wines POS platform, Commerce7
Partake in maintaining cleanliness of the Tasting Room
- Execute other duties as given by Tasting Room Manager
Requirements:
Must be willing to work weekends
Adhere to House Policies/PLCB/RAMP guidelines for safe service for guests
Be able to lift 40 lbs
Able to stand, walk, and talk for extended periods as job duties require
Comfortable with public speaking and presenting information
Must be 21+
Sommelier Certification a plus, but not required
Qualifications
Must be a team player with a can-do attitude that presents a warm, gracious and professional demeanor to both guests and co-workers
Must have excellent guest service & hospitality skills
Must be able to adapt to change
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
