Ground Beef Supervisor

Are you a detail-oriented and organized individual with a passion for quality meat production and likes variety in day to day tasks? If so, SmithCo Meats, Inc. is looking for a dedicated Ground Beef Supervisor to join our team in Sumner, Washington.

SmithCo Meats is family owned and operated meat processor located east of Tacoma in Sumner. We custom cut and deliver portioned cuts of beef, pork, veal, lamb, poultry, ground product, dry aged, and marinated products to restaurants, food distributors and grocers between Portland, OR and Everett, WA.

As the Ground Beef Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our meat processing facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administrative: Review orders, schedule production, schedule employees, manage raw materials and finished goods, administer food safety programs, and seek out and implement efficiency improvements.
• Grinding: Assemble, disassemble, and load grinders. Assemble, disassemble forming equipment, and fill boxes to order.
• Packaging: Build, line and label boxes, operate MAP packaging and metal detecting machines
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience and skills

• Ground beef production.
• Working in a food manufacturing environment.
• Operating and maintaining equipment.
• Scheduling and managing priorities.
• Supervising others

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a cool environment.
• Able to speak, read and write English fluently.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
• Ability to perform the essential job functions.
