Senior Applications Developer

Zen Strategics, a niche Cyber Security Firm, is looking for a Senior Applications Developer

Requirements:

· Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, with at least 4 years of professional experience

· Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL

· Experience with software development best practices, such as Agile, TDD, and continuous integration

· Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React or AngularJS is a plus

· Understanding of server-side rendering and front-end performance optimization

· Knowledge of version control systems such as Git

· Knowledge of one or more of the following configuration management tools: Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and SaltStack

· Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Singularity, Podman, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, Fargate)

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Experience supporting DHS Agencies
• Ability to demonstrate and explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences?
• Able to clearly communicate with both customers and teammates and provide recommendations for improvements to existing software applications?
• Understanding of New Relic, Nagios or similar monitoring

Years of Experience:

Five years’ experience developing applications using the Ruby on Rails Framework

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related combination of education and experience technical field is required

Location: This position can be staffed at the Government’s facility within the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area or any locations in the United States with requirement for occasional travel to the government facility in the DC Area.

Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Government Agency clearance
