Network Infrastructure Installation Specialist

The Network Infrastructure Installation Speicalist will be responsible for all infrastructure for Federal Government Customer in the Northern Virginia area. This role will assist in the installation of racks, patch panels, routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and other equipment.  *This position is contingent upon award/funding*

In this role you will…

• Perform site surveys.
• Pulling, terminating, testing, and labeling all Fiber and CAT-6 cable. 
• Recommendation of supplies and materials. 
• Reviewing security requirements for the systems to ensure proper materials are purchased and supported. 
• Cable management, wiring diagrams, and rack configurations.
• Server hardware installation and configuration.
• Deployment and management of applications. 
• Capacity planning (storage) and management of storage.
• Provide upgrades to environment (hardware and software). 
• Support all OCONUS installations and recap efforts of Sponsor Mission Networks. 
• Installation and configuration of all peripheral desktop equipment (workstations/monitors/switchboxes) and printers along with all associated cabling. 
• Create or update documentation related to implementation activities. 
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

Experience Requirements:

• Previous network installation experience with related technologies is required.

Education Requirements:

•  Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is desired (4 years)

Security Clearance Requirements:

• A TS/SCI with Polygraph is required
• CONUS and OCONUS TDY travel may be required (less than 20%)

Other Requirements:

• May be required to move equipment/files weighing up to 50 pounds
• Requires ability to consistently perform repetitive tasks including filing and scanning
• May require sedentary work at least 50% of the time
• Reports to a physical location which occasionally requires the ability to traverse between buildings
• Ability to manage stress with a high degree of maturity/professionalism
• Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills and the ability to work well with others
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Other duties as assigned
