Job Description: Know the front desk position, train and oversee front desk staff. This is a year-round, full time position. In charge of guest relations.

Expectations:

  • Train front desk staff
  • Assists in supervising and coordinating the daily activities of the front desk staff
  • Ensures the arrival, departure and all other guest service interactions are conducted in a efficient, professional, and friendly manner
  • Ensure all front desk staff is fulfilling their expectations
  • Interacts positively with customers and fellow associates, taking needed action to resolve problems that may arise, maintaining a high level of positivity
  • Greet every guest who walks through the door
  • Answer the phone and if necessary, forward to the proper extension or voicemail
  • Take reservations for cabins, marina and rentals using computer applications
  • Check in and out guests from their cabins- make sure all forms are signed and appropriately filed
  • Ensure that the front desk and reception area is kept clean and organized
  • Manage front desk records, filing and inventory
  • Manage seasonal moorage contracts
  • Helps to reduce and resolve guest service complaints by anticipating potential problems
  • Follow up on guest complaints to make sure problem is fixed
  • Check in and out rental equipment- make sure all forms are signed, filed into appropriate folder and payment/deposit is taken
  • Take reservations for the dining room using Open table program
  • Be responsible of the till and the money that resides within it
  • Post charges to cabin accounts
  • Sign for deliveries
  • Pay vendors for weekly deliveries
  • Communicate with other departments, main liaison between front desk, hskp and maint
  • Make sure maintenance has taken the mail to and from the mailbox
  • Make sure ALL rental items have been returned.
  • Complete tasks that are asked of you by different departments (i.e., making signs, typing something up, researching a part, etc.).
  • Track deposits, when to send requests out, keep track of Deposit Log and Cancellation log
  • Make sure waitlists are being utilized, track cancellations and the waitlist
  • Develop a communication plan for the front desk in the summer with the seasonal staff
  • Take on projects as needed for marketing, advertising, website review from management
