Registered Nurse/Pre-OP PACU, Brunswick, GA

Premier Surgery Center is seeking a full time Pre-Op PACU RN for our Brunswick location.

Job Requirements:

• Performs assessment on patients scheduled for surgery in a timely manner by utilizing all available resources (patient significant other, medical record, other health professionals, etc.)
• Assessments to be performed in a timely manner to avoid same day cancellation of cases.
• Documents assessment on the pre-op assessment form.
• Reports any medical problems to anesthesia.
• Orders and monitors results of ancillary tests needed and reports results out of the norm to anesthesia/surgeon.
• Tracks patients that require further medical workup or clearances prior to surgery.
• Instructs patients as to medications that should be taken prior to surgery.
• Reviews instructions with patient prior to surgery.
• Maintains patient confidentiality, patient dignity, patient rights, and serves as a patient advocate at all times.
• Provides education for the patient and family regarding procedure, medication, etc.
• Assists with follow up phones calls to post-operative patients as needed. Reports any abnormal findings to anesthesia, surgeon, director or other necessary party.
• Performs all other duties assigned by the Clinical Director.

Education:

• RN. Completion of nursing training from an accredited school of nursing.
