Radiologist Assistant - Sign-On Bonus - $5,000*

Fairfax Radiological Consultants, PLLC has a fantastic opportunity for an RA to work with IR doctors who are medical specialists devoted to advancing patient care through the innovative integration of imaging-based diagnosis & minimally invasive therapies. This is a full-time non-exempt position.

NO CALL and NO EVENINGS.

Shift: five 8 hour shifts, Mon - Fri..

Work location: primarily Inova Fairfax Hospital, but also may include other Inova hospitals.

Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with the physicians in preparing for, conducting, and documenting diagnostic and interventional procedures.

2. Assists Radiologists in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures including fluoroscopic exams such as but not limited to Upper GI, BE, small bowel, video swallow studies.

3. Prepares patients for procedures, including explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have.

4. Obtains and records patient medical history exhibiting a strong attention to details.

5. Prepares equipment for radiographic procedures, ensuring that it is in good working order and properly calibrated.

6. Administers contrast agents, as ordered by the Radiologist, and monitors patients for any adverse reactions.

7. Assists with patient positioning and immobilization during procedures.

8. Maintains accurate patient records and enters data into electronic medical records systems.

9. Works independently and as part of a team in the delivery of patient care.

10. Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills in support of FRC’s reputation in the Hospital.

11. Complies with all Hospital policies for clinicians.

12. Adheres to safety and infection control protocols and procedures.

Requirements:

1. Meet the educational requirements for RA from an institution accredited by ARRT. Completion

of the educational program before January 1, 2023 requires a Bachelor’s degree. Completion

of the educational program before January 1, 2023 requires a Master’s or Doctoral degree.

2. Meet ARRT’s requirement for clinical experience in radiography

3. Have a minimum of three years working in a hospital or other clinical setting.

4. Radiography Certification with ARRT and Registered Radiology Assistant (RRA) certification.

5. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

6. Virginia License.

7. Must be able to access, input and retrieve information from the computer.

8. Works primarily at Fairfax Hospital but must be able to travel to other Inova hospitals on request.

9. Must be able physically to assist patients in transfers and positioning.
