Universal Perk Barista Shift Lead Job Description:

Universal Perk is Sheraton Universal’s coffee shop located in the hotel’s lobby providing Starbucks recipe beverages and our own recipe quick service food for our guests.

Position: Universal Perk Barista Shift Lead

Job Description: The primary job of the Universal Perk barista shift lead is to provide our guests with a welcoming experience and see to the dietary needs of our guests while helping create moments that make a difference.

Universal Perk Barista shift leads will be trained in all duties pertinent to the operations of the outlet as they will be assigned a different role daily under the barista position. These roles include Cashier, Hot Bar, Back Bar (cold drinks/hot food), Guest Services. As a shift lead you will work all roles baristas work throughout a shift.

Job Responsibilities:

The duties required are, but not limited to:

  • Greet and acknowledge every guest promptly and warmly
  • Take guest orders and put them into Micros
  • Mark cups and food bags with customers order
  • Process Payments
  • Assist and assume all roles and responsibilities as business demands (i.e. Cashier helping hot bar, etc.)
  • Be able to make all drinks and food on the menu accurately
  • Restock supplies (Cups, straws, stirs, Milk & Alternatives, tea, quick service items, etc…)
  • Retrieve supplies for Hot/Cold Bar, Quick Service from storage areas and re-stock as needed.
  • Prepare hot food items
  • Package up orders
  • Brew Drip Coffee
  • Call out guest names for complete orders
  • Prep Items for Service (cold brew, drink mixes, etc)
  • Wash blender jars and spatulas during service
  • Cleaning Workspace surfaces and equipment
  • Balancing Cash Drawers
  • Keep guest and associate areas clean and organized
  • Do dishes as needed
  • Communicate food needs to the kitchen
  • Make requisitions
  • Solve minor guest issues within the outlet
  • Other duties as required/assigned
  • Maintain and re-stock guest grab&go and merchandiser area.
  • Manage breaks.
  • Requisition product for orders.
  • Manage inventory of all items sold.
  • Maintain the outlet stocked and prepare for business demands.
