Role Description

Our Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in our organization, performing intricate accounting tasks, with a primary focus on TIF (Tax Increment Financing) reconciliation and financial reporting. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, exceptional analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles. The Staff Accountant will oversee the work of others, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial data. This is a full-time onsite role supervised by our Finance Director

Required Experience, Training, Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning that is regionally accredited through the U.S. Department of Education is required. --Six (6) years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field may be substituted as determined by the Department Director. (Four (4) years to substitute the degree plus two (2) years of the required experience.)
  • Four (4) years of related financial experience is required.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Municipal or public entity financial experience is preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with Finance leadership in achieving those goals.
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers.
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity with a strong work ethic
  • Must be detail-oriented, efficient, and have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular expertise in Word and Excel.
  • Must possess no felony convictions and be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.

POSITION SUMMARY:The Staff Accountant performs complex accounting functions including TIF Tax reconciling and financial reporting and is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of all financial data.This position includes the supervision of others.Work is performed under limited supervision with work reviewed for results achieved. This position is supervised by the Finance Director.

CLOSING DATE: Until Filled

WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

WORK LOCATION: City of Branson, Missouri; City Hall. This is an in office position requiring work to be performed onsite.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
