Certified Medical Assistant / Medical Secretary
Outpatient - Frederick
40 hours per week
Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as the medical secretary for the assigned outpatient physician practice staff
- Schedules appointments in electronic health system
- Takes messages, screen calls
- Collect deductibles and co-pays
- Sends Outpatient letters, including work and school notes
- Requests medical records from outside facilities
- Reviews consent forms for accuracy and ensures they are current
- Runs caseload reports to keep the providers caseload current
- Scans paperwork into the Essentia system
- Prescription Refills
- Closes Outpatient records when needed
- Works with staff and patients in manner that ensures a positive outcome
- Maintains Outpatient program policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Take patient vitals
- Administer injections
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant required.
- Experience working in a health care office is preferred.
- Intermediate technology skills required
- High school degree or equivalent required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Starting pay based on qualifications and experience.
