Regional Marketing Manager Genomic Services

As a key member of the commercial team, the Regional Marketing Manager will execute multi-channel marketing promotion of Psomagen’s clinical and research genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic services to acquire new customers and nurture them to become longstanding accounts.

This role will work cross-functionally with Sales Management, Project Management, Marketing peers and Laboratory Operations to develop and execute the marketing plan to drive revenue growth and quota attainment including campaign creation and management. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of NGS (next-generation sequencing), and/or proteomics markets, as well as associated lab technologies and applications. This role will be expected to develop and implement successful marketing strategies and tactics to promote ‘omics-based services within this highly competitive marketplace.

Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility for bringing the customer voice and market understanding to drive impact, profit, and loss for the genomic services business, drawing on resources from various functions across the organization to support the program strategy.
  • Develops and executes the strategic marketing and operations strategy for genomic services business line, ensures that customer and product development is strategically focused.
  • Guides the development of product marketing materials, including product brochures, sales tools advertisements, digital and social content, and any other promotional material required to support the execution of the multi-channel marketing plan.
  • Translate strategic marketing and scientific insights into marketing programs and campaigns aligned to the fiscal and long-term goals of Psomagen including budget planning and revenue forecasting. Able to manage fiscal marketing campaigns and to forecast and measure the ROI for marketing activities.
  • Monitors customer satisfaction and understands customer needs and desires, and applies business knowledge to identify new business opportunities recommending new products, systems.
  • Makes key decisions, and oversees the execution of program operations, aligning key strategies and resource prioritization, and can find fair trade-offs between competing interests if necessary
  • Develops and conducts customer and product profitability analyses and recommends appropriate actions to improve customer and product profitability and capture value from improved pricing or other initiatives.
  • Develop and execute demand generation marketing programs and tactics in support of Lead Generation (e.g., seminars, webinars, local trade shows) to develop prospect lists and research backgrounds of prospects.
  • Plan, organize, and execute regional marketing and sales programs surrounding relevant regional product launches. Work with Lab Operations, Product Managers and Sales Operations to provide product positioning material and training for sales and technical support teams.
  • Attend tradeshows and represent the company in public events.
  • Monitor competitor portfolios and marketing activities to ensure a competitive portfolio of genomic services, strategize and respond as necessary to competitive threats.
  • Work with Product Managers to assess and on-board new technologies to meet customer scientific demands. Help maintain and upgrade service lines of business.
Minimum Qualifications
  • The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or equivalent, MBA a plus.
  • At >5 years of experience, majority of which is in a life sciences services and/or tools or related organization in the Regional Marketing or Product Marketing disciplines.
  • At >2 years of experience in a technical role at a life science or related organization
  • Experience managing marketing projects such as content development, campaigns or events
  • Proficient at developing, executing and measuring marketing plans
  • Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and project management skills with proven ability to drive and manage initiatives in a matrixed environment (empowering others to lead)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to excel in a cross-functional environment
  • A strong work ethic and clear/strategic thinker with ability to build and successfully execute various Marketing tactics in the region.
  • Experience working with HubSpot and Asana project management software a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in selling NGS sequencing services or related laboratory services
  • Work experience or knowledge of Core Laboratory and Shared Instrumentation settings.
  • Masters or Ph.D. in Science field a plus.
