MEDICAL ASSISTANT or LPN/PULMONARY - FRONT OFFICE - (M-F)

This is a full-time position offering employee benefits. M-Th (8:30-5) and F (8:30-4). Duties will include front office duties - phones, scheduling, check in/check out and have clinical responsibilities as needed.

Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants and Certified Patient Care Techs. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT/A). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants/Certified Patient Care Techs will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

General Summary:

Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of the office and as needed performs clinical duties

Works under the supervision of the Office Manager

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Example of Essential Duties:

1) Answering phones - courteously and professionally.

2) Scheduling appointments, lab tests, procedures, etc.

3) Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications.

4) Updating insurance information.

5) Checking patients in and checking patients out.

5) Escorting patients to exam rooms as needed.

7) Taking vitals and documenting in medical record as needed.

8) Other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Required:

- Excellent communication and organizational skills required.

- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.

- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.

- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.

- Certification or Registration as a Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA) or ABR-OE recognition.

- Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.

Education: Medical Assisting degree or diploma required.
