Inova Loudoun Ambulatory Surgery Center is a full service ambulatory outpatient facility providing cost-effective outpatient services using modern, state-of-the-art technology in a friendly and caring environment. We are located on the campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia.

We are seeking Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurses to join our team on a PRN basis. No night, weekend, or holiday shifts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Pre-Op/PACU RN participates in pre-operative patient care, and post surgical phase one and two recovery care. Duties include:

  • Performing patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard to care for patients’ age
  • Taking vital signs, checking dressings and/or operative site, administering medications
  • Reviewing diagnostics and laboratory data and reporting results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers
  • Ensuring patient meets all discharge criteria
  • Documenting assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record
  • Discharging the patient either per wheelchair, assisting with ambulation, or other appropriate method based on patient condition
  • Reviewing, educating, and providing a copy of the written discharge instructions to the patient and caregivers

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current RN license in the state of Virginia, BLS certification
  • Current ACLS/PALS certification, or must achieve within six (6) months of date of hire
  • Minimum 1-2 years previous work experience in an ambulatory surgery setting or acute hospital recovery room
