Job Description

The Mobile Fundraising Content Specialist will join this team ready to hit the ground running as a collaborator, leader, and industry expert. They will help create, send, and analyze daily Mobile content for clients that range from local mayoral races to the biggest Senate races in the country. Besides working closely with the Mobile Fundraising Team, they'll work collaboratively with Account Managers and the Nonprofit team to help grow our existing accounts and provide expert knowledge to help pitch new accounts.

Responsibilities

Copywriting and Editing (55%):

    • Conduct creative A/B testing of copy and ActBlue pages to optimize returns for clients
    • Utilizing copywriting to optimize ActBlue fundraising pages for mobile viewing with mobile-optimized language and formatting
    • Analyze results of best-performing copy and be able to use that information to optimize future best practices, recommend scale and report back to clients
    • Write succinct and compelling text copy for political and nonprofit clients asking donors to give to our clients
    • Aid in proofreading and editing copy produced by the Mobile team for political and nonprofit clients

Texting Production and Data Analysis (15%): Start to finish production of all text campaigns in platforms such as Spoke

    • Conduct A/B testing of targeting
    • Analyze results of lists and sends and be able to use that information to optimize future best practices and report back to clients
    • Learn how to use GA's internal database and data tech stack to pull hyper targeted donor lists (all skills will be taught) to successfully build texting audiences for clients
  • Cross-Vertical Texting Consulting (15%):
    • Work with the Revenue Team and Account Managers on introducing new clients and digital firms to our mobile fundraising services and turning their interest into sales, while always maintaining the highest level of customer service and aiding maximum growth of large accounts.
  • Text Team Management (10%):
    • Aid in managing Grassroots Analytics Text Team including onboarding new texters, collecting and organizing their new hire paperwork, conducting trainings on sending texts, replies, and managing opt outs, assigning out texts and replies, and tracking texter timesheets as well as working with our Operations Team to ensure texters are paid on time
  • Maintain Depth of Knowledge on 10DLC and Toll-Free (5%):
    • Stay up to date on regulatory frameworks and changes around texting programs, be able to relay this information to internal staff at Grassroots Analytics and to our clients, and help the Mobile Fundraising Manager communicate with our texting vendors
  • Additional responsibilities as needed

The Mobile Fundraising Content Specialist will report to the Mobile Fundraising Manager.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years or one complete election cycle of experience contributing high-level strategy to a digital program
    • Experience may come from a campaign, nonprofit, or any other dedicated cause you can translate into this role
  • Strong copywriting and copyediting skills within a range of styles and formats, especially digital fundraising and creative writing in order to to create compelling fundraising copy centered around Democratic candidates and progressive causes
  • Edit, proofread and review copy produced by the Mobile team and clients as well to ensure best practices are being followed and copy is being optimized
  • Knowledge of the digital fundraising landscape, including common tactics and "major players"
  • Understanding of the regulatory framework around texting (10DLC, Toll-Free Registration, etc.)
  • Experience working with CRMs (NGP, Campaign Deputy, Every Action, etc.), SMS platforms (Scale To Win, Politics Rewired, Switchboard, etc.), and donation platforms (ActBlue, NGP, etc.)
  • Facility with data analysis, revenue and ROI tracking, and projections
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills, system, and process
  • Appreciate and understand the role data and testing can play in the campaign and nonprofit fundraising space
  • Have a passion for democratizing campaign fundraising – Grassroots Analytics is proud to support candidates up and down the ballot and from non-traditional backgrounds.

The base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 plus benefits. This is a full-time, in-office position based in our office in Chinatown at 806 7th St NW, Washington, D.C. 20001

We offer 33 days of PTO + two additional days for every year with GA; 11 federal holidays; and full office closure between Christmas and New Years.
